Miscellaneous Terms - All crew members must abide by all policies and regulations as stated in the guide to safe scouting and youth protection training posted by the National Boy Scouting Council. - There will be absolutely no Public Displays of Affection including but not limited too; Kissing, Fondling, Inappropriate touching, etc. - All words coming out of one’s mouth must be filtered of explicit content as described in the scout law. - There will be absolutely no smoking/drinking/tobacco products etc. Buddy System - The buddy system will be followed by all members of the scouting unit at all times - Any combination of crew members of 2 or more will be deemed an acceptable buddy pair as stated in the guide to safe scouting. Positions of Responsibility - Term Length: 12 months Positions President - Blogs once a week - Manages "contact us" page - Runs meetings Vice President of Activities - Fills out tour plans - Attends round table - 2nd in command - Monitors advancement - Blogs bi weekly - Manages "event registration" page Vice President of Administration - Manages Treasurer and Secretary - Manages database - Collect crew paperwork - 3rd in command - Blogs bi weekly - Manages website data Secretary - Takes notes at meetings - Takes in and counts votes - Creates newsletters - Post minutes on website Treasurer - Collects dues - Manages crew finances - Inputs into excel Historian Training - All crew officers must have the BSLST or equivalent or dedicate to taking it when next available during their term Camping Rules - There is no lights out unless specific event inhibits one - No Porta-let shaking - Assigned shower times when females present - Leave no trace policies strictly enforced - Must bring zombie survival kit Dress Code - Must wear underwear under kilt - Closed toed shoes for overall camping activities - Shower shoes for shower and aquatics Field Uniforms - Official Crew 000 Hawaiian Print - Cargo Shorts - Cargo Pants - Exceptions discussed on event by event basis Discipline Sibling rule - If one gets in trouble they all get in trouble - Equal discipline - If it applies to one it applies to all 1st offence - Verbal Warning - Reprimand 2nd offence - Written Warning - Could be ineligible for office while filed - Filed for 12 months - Reprimand 3rd offence - 1 event suspension - Reprimand - Written warning - Filed for 12 months 4th offence - 1 month suspension - Written Warning - Reprimand - Filed for 24 months 5th offence - Disciplinary vote - Written warning - Reprimand - Disciplinary offences can be skipped due to severity of the offence committed. - You break it you buy it policy (no exceptions) Emendation - Amendments to our crew bylaws - Proposed by good standing crew member with signed backing from adult and or youth leaders - Requires 3/4 majority vote to pass - Must be signed by crew president - Veto can be overridden with 100% majority vote from crew youth (excluding president) Meeting Design Opening - 15 Min - Pledge - Troop/Crew Oath and Law - Joint meeting Indoor - 45 minutes - Everyday Business and Paperwork Outdoor - 1 hour - Outdoor activity - Unless otherwise planned includes walk - Time to talk about general crew affairs Crew will be 100% youth run!!! No Exceptions!!!
Temporary Amendment Law - This document will remain as temporary bylaws and can be modified to any extent with a majority vote from the crew youth. This rule remains in effect until midnight on the 31st day of December, 2012. After this date the crew bylaws become 100% permanent and fixed.
